A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved for the convenience of meeting attendees at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, 2255 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu, Hawaii. The hotel registered its first guests in June 1971. Commanding panoramic views of Waikiki Beach, Honolulu and the Ko`olau mountains, this 1,852 room hotel is one of Hawaii's most popular.

The Importance of Staying in Conference Hotels

We are able to offer the special discounted room rates due to a commitment to contract for a minimum number of sleeping room at the Sheraton. If we do not fill these blocks, financial penalties will be incurred. This ultimately impacts the health of the ACA and consequently registration fees.

Students and Postdoctoral Housing

Student Housing: Sheraton Waikiki Hotel (Manor Wing) - $100 single or double, per night plus 11.41% tax per room

Postdoctoral Housing: Sheraton Princess Kaiulani - $130 single or double, triple $180, per night plus 11.41% tax per room

The ACA has secured a limited number of rooms for students and postdoctoral associates at reduced rates for the 2006 Annual Meeting. The student rooms are located in the Manor Wing of the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Hotel complex. The post doc rooms are at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel, located on Kaiulani Street, a 5 minute walk to the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Hotel. All forms should be submitted directly to the ACA Registrar and the ACA will forward this form and deposit to the requested hotel. All housing reservation requests must be received by May 1, 2006. A deposit equal to one night's rate, per person, must accompany this form. This amount will be credited to your stay. The deposit is payable by credit card or a check drawn on a U.S. bank. Each person in the room should complete this housing reservation form and submit it with the deposit. Be sure to include your roommate's name in the space provided. If you need a roommate, please check the appropriate box under Hotel Room Request. Requesting a roommate does not guarantee you will be sharing. Notices will be sent by May 8 advising you if a roommate has been found. Undergraduate and graduate students must submit a photocopy of a valid student identification card. Postdocs must have this form signed by their Professor or Research Director.

Your completed Advance Meeting Registration Form with payment MUST also be submitted with this Housing Reservation Form. Failure to submit the appropriate forms, payments and documentation may result in a delay or loss of reservation. Reservation requests are on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for submission of this form is May 1, 2006. After that date any remaining rooms will be offered to all meeting participants. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail after the form is received by the ACA and payment is processed.

A deposit equal to one night's rate is required. This deposit will be applied to the first night of the reserved stay. Make check payable to American Crystallographic Assn. or include credit card information below. For changes or cancellations before May 8, contact the ACA; after May 8, changes or cancellations must be made directly with your hotel. Reservations cancelled within 72 hours of arrival date must be cancelled with your hotel and the deposit will not be refunded. Penalties for early departure are enforced and vary by hotel.
